Like every year, this year too preparations have been completed for the traditionally celebrated Dhinga Gawar fair. When women and girls with canes in their hands would come out on the streets in different types of masquerades, men and youth would be seen running to avoid being beaten with canes.

The tradition of this Bentamar fair is that if the bachelors are caned, they get married soon. This time, during the fair, the Police Commissionerate is going to make very good arrangements. This time more than 500 police officers and soldiers will be seen handling the arrangements.

This worship is done only in Jodhpur
On the unique festival Dhinga Gavar celebrated as part of the festival, along with the married women, widow women also worship Gavar Mata. With this worship, they pray to Gavar Mata to remain happily married in the next life. According to the legend, Lord Shiva had given a boon to Parvati that widow women who worshiped Dhinga Gavar would have a long life of married women in their next birth. Dhinga Gavar is worshiped on the 16th day of Gangaur. In this, a day before the Teejanis bring water from the holy lake and worship Gangaur Mata. Then on the last day of the puja, after the evening aarti, women come out on the streets dressed in various masquerades.

More than 500 officers and soldiers will give duty
In view of this fair, under the direction of Jodhpur Police Commissioner Rajendra Singh, the arrangements from the police side are going to be tight. Under the leadership of DCP Alok Srivastava, women soldiers and soldiers in civil clothes will be deployed on the day of Dhinga Gavar. Before that, videography will also be done using the drone. In view of the Dhinga Gavar fair, better arrangements have been made by the police administration so that there is no problem of any kind during the fair. Following the instructions of Police Commissioner Rajendra Singh, DCP Alok Srivastava has deployed adequate personnel and has also kept a register in which anti-social elements will be stopped and their details will be asked and will be noted in the register.

Now people create swagchar for 10 to 15 thousand rupees.
Kamal Kishore, who has been involved in preparing dresses etc. during the fair for generations, told Local 18 that the craze for Dhinga Gawar is continuously increasing. Now preparations start a month or so in advance. Earlier, 2 to 2.5 thousand people were prepared by doing make-up. There has been a lot of change with the changing times and the number of women coming out in disguise has also increased.
