On What Does The Earth Rest Why Does It Not Fall

There are many such things about the Earth for which every person has many questions in his mind, the answers to which he wants to know. Although science has made a lot of progress due to which many secrets related to the Earth have become known to people, but many questions still remain in the minds of people which some people know but not everyone knows the answer to. Today we will talk about one such question.

Have you ever wondered how the Earth rotating around the Sun continues to move in the same way? Why doesn’t it fall or what is it resting on? So let us know the answer to this interesting question today.

Why doesn’t the earth fall?
Actually, an attraction works between two bodies which is called gravity. According to Newton’s law, the greater the weight of an object, the greater will be the force of gravity on it, because the Sun is the heaviest body in the solar system, hence due to gravitational pull the Earth keeps revolving around it.

On what does the earth rest?
Now the question arises that on what is the Earth resting? The answer is that the gravitational force of the Sun is holding the Earth in its orbit. It is inclined towards the Sun but due to no external pressure, it continues to float in space in the same position. According to Newton’s law, unless an external force is applied, any object will continue to move straight at its speed and its balance will not be disturbed. Same is the case with the earth also. That is why the Earth continues to move in the same orbit at the same speed and does not fall.
