JPC On One Nation One Elections: The names of 21 members of the Joint Committee of Parliament formed for One Country One Election have been revealed. These 21 members are from Lok Sabha. However, the Joint Committee of Parliament will have 31 members tomorrow, of which 21 members will be from Lok Sabha and 10 members from Rajya Sabha.
The name of Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, who was elected MP for the first time, is also included in the list of Lok Sabha members. The tenure of the Joint Committee of Parliament will be till the last week of the budget session, when this committee will have to present its report before the House. BJP has 10 members, Congress three, TMC, SP, Shiv Sena, NCP (SP), DMK, TDP, RLD and Janasena have one member each.

The government presented two bills on Tuesday
On Tuesday, the government introduced two bills in the Lok Sabha as part of its plan to hold simultaneous elections across the country. The opposition has alleged that this step of the government is anti-constitutional and weakens the federal structure. Last week, the Cabinet had approved the Constitution 129th Bill and the Union Territory Act.
The government did not get majority in the House
On Tuesday, the opposition demanded a division of votes to decide on the introduction of the bills, following which voting took place, in which 269 MPs voted in favor and 198 against. The Congress raised this gap, saying that the government does not have the two-thirds majority in the House, which is required to pass the constitutional amendment bill.
