A massive fire broke out in a paper warehouse in Shakarpur on Tuesday night. Eight vehicles of the fire department reached the spot. During the rescue operation, the police came to know that an employee living in the warehouse was trapped inside.
When the police controlled the fire at 7 am on Wednesday, they found the burnt body of Satyendra Paswan alias Pauwa (45). Police sources say that the warehouse was being run illegally. There was a fire here seven-eight years ago too, but then the matter was hush-up. Police have registered a case of negligence and arrested warehouse owner Munna Kumar (45). After initial investigation, the cause of the fire is said to be short circuit.
Deputy Commissioner of Police Apoorva Gupta said that at around 1 o’clock in the night, information was received that there was a fire in the paper warehouse in S-618, School Block, Shakarpur. Apart from the police, fire brigade vehicles reached the spot. Investigation revealed that warehouse employee Satyendra used to sleep there. During this time Satyendra’s sister Saro Devi also reached. He told that he was not able to contact his brother. When the fire was brought under control at around 7.0 am on Wednesday, Satyendra’s body was found. The family is originally from Nalanda, Bihar. Satyendra’s family consists of a wife and a child who live in the village.
For a long time, Satyendra used to work in the warehouse of Munna living in Pandav Nagar. He used to sleep in the warehouse at night. Police registered a case of negligence and arrested Munna from his house in Pandav Nagar.
