Actually, OnePlus had launched this phone in two variants. The first variant of this phone comes with 8GB RAM + 128GB storage, and the second variant comes with 16GB RAM + 256GB storage. At the time of launching this phone, the company had informed that the top variant of this phone i.e. the variant with 256GB storage has UFS 4.0 storage feature, which is also present in OnePlus 12. Apart from this, the company had told that only the base variant of this phone i.e. the variant with 128GB storage has the feature of UFS 3.1 storage.
The company’s claim for the top variant of OnePlus 12R proved wrong and the 256GB storage variant of this phone comes with UFS 3.1 storage feature, which is available in many mid-range phones including the company’s older model i.e. OnePlus 11R. OnePlus President and COO Kinder Liu took action against the issue, writing in a forum post, “We thank you for your patience. I want to let you know that our customer service has been made aware of this situation.” And they will help customers who have been troubled over the past few weeks.”
He further wrote that, if you have purchased the OnePlus 12R 256GB variant and want to discuss the file system type status of your phone, please contact customer care through your normal channel. They will help you with next steps and get refund till 16th March 2024.
Earlier, a senior OnePlus executive had apologized to buyers for the wrong promotion and termed it an error on the company’s part. Apart from this, the company had appealed to the customers to remain patient and support the company.
