Bappi Lahiri met Raj Kumar in a program. Raj Kumar laughed seeing the heavy gold ornaments around the musician’s neck. He said, “I see only the mangalsutra is missing.” Hindu women wear mangalsutra around their neck as a sign of marriage.

But Bappi used to consider gold as God. His soul used to reside in gold. Gold was a symbol of good fortune for him. That’s why all these criticisms had no effect on him.
He died in a private hospital located in Juhu, Mumbai. Bappi Lahiri was 69 years old at the time of his death. Earlier, Bappi Lahiri was also infected with Corona. At that time Bappi Lahiri was admitted to Breach Candy Hospital in Mumbai. After a few days he recovered and returned home. He breathed his last at a private hospital in Mumbai after suffering from ‘obstructive sleep apnea (OSA)’. His departure was a great loss to the music world. Bappi Da, known as Disco King in Bollywood, introduced rock music in the 70s.
