OpenAI and Microsoft Supercomputer: Microsoft and OpenAI are working together on a data center project, which could cost around $100 billion. According to the information, this project also includes building Artificial Intelligence supercomputer. The name of this supercomputer will be Stargate, which can be launched by the year 2028.
According to the report of The Information, Sam Altman and Microsoft have decided to prepare this supercomputer in five phases, in which Stargate is the fifth phase. Microsoft is currently working on the fourth phase of small supercomputers for OpenAI, which may be launched by 2026. Apart from this, a major part of the cost of the second phase will be spent in purchasing AI chips.
How much can the chip cost?
According to Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang, the price of these chips can range from 30 thousand dollars to 40 thousand dollars. Microsoft also announced a pair of custom designed computing chips in November last year. It has been told in the report that Microsoft will finance this project, which is going to be 100 times more expensive than the existing data centers.

Microsoft has been betting big on AI for a long time to compete with Google.
