On Friday night, 80 teams of crime branch raided 100 places in Delhi under Operation Kavach against drug peddlers. During this, the Anti-Narcotics Task Force of the Crime Branch arrested 31 people. At the same time, 12 people involved in liquor smuggling have also been arrested. 957 grams of heroin, 57.88 kg of ganja and liquor worth more than one crore were recovered from the accused.
Special Commissioner of Crime Branch Ravindra Singh Yadav said that on the orders of the Ministry of Home Affairs, the Anti-Narcotics Task Force was formed across the country. The task force is engaged in realizing the dream of a drug free India of the Prime Minister and the Home Minister. Action is on under the guidance of Lieutenant Governor Vinay Kumar Saxena and Police Commissioner Sanjay Arora.
In this episode, on Friday night, the Anti Narcotics Task Force (ANTF) formed 80 teams and conducted overnight raids along with the local police. During the campaign, 30 FIRs were registered and 31 drug peddlers were arrested. While six cases of liquor smuggling were registered, 12 people were arrested. Huge quantities of liquor and drugs were recovered from them.
534 arrested in 412 cases this year
Special Commissioner Ravindra Yadav said that in the year 2023, the police has arrested a total of 534 people in 412 cases of drug trafficking. Police recovered 35 kg heroin, 15 kg cocaine, 1500 kg ganja, 230 kg opium, 10 kg charas and 20 kg other drugs from them. Apart from this, liquor smuggling has arrested hundreds of people and recovered thousands of liters of liquor.
