Hathras Special Court Number Two (Prevention of Corruption Act) Special Judge of Meerut has given orders to Hathras Gate Police to register a case against Mandi Inspector Hathras. An agent of the Mandi Committee had filed an application in the court under Section 156 (3) of CrPC.
Yogendra Kumar Varshney, owner and proprietor of Varshney & Company in Naveen Mandi Committee, Hathras, had filed an application in the court. It is alleged in the application that another firm in the name of the applicant’s wife, Mohit Love Traders, is located at Gali Siknapan. Whose license was duly valid till 30 June 2023. It is alleged that the new market committee had requested Hathras market inspector Rahul Verma to renew the market committee license of the said firm Mohit Love Traders.
Market Inspector Rahul Verma had demanded Rs 10,000 in lieu of renewing the firm’s Mandi Committee license. He has alleged in the application that on June 23, 2023, at around 5:00 pm, Market Inspector Rahul Verma came to my firm Varshney & Company and forcibly took ten thousand rupees from me as a bribe. This incident was captured in the CCTV camera installed at the firm. Its video clip is available.
Yogendra Kumar informed the market officials and administrative officials about this matter. He sent an application regarding the incident through registered post, but no legal action was taken. In this case, Yogendra Kumar filed an application before the Special Judge, Special Court No. 2 (Prevention of Corruption Act), Meerut. While hearing this application, the court has given instructions to the inspector in-charge of police station Hathras Gate, to register the case as per law and start proper investigation as per the rules.
