Pakistan Army Chief General Asim Munir on occasion of Defense Day says Paki Army involvement in 1999 Kargil War with India

Pakistan Defence Day: Pakistan’s army has officially admitted for the first time that it was involved in the 1999 Kargil war, in which Pakistan suffered a crushing defeat. On Friday (September 6), on the occasion of Defence Day, Pakistan’s Army Chief General Asim Munir admitted the death of Pak Army soldiers in Kargil. This was never admitted before.

However, till now no army chief of Pakistan, be it Lieutenant General (Retired) Shahid Aziz or former PM Nawaz Sharif, has accepted Pakistan’s involvement in the Kargil war. Apart from this, General Pervez Musharraf, who was the Pakistan Army Chief during the 1999 Kargil conflict, has himself accepted this fact several times.

Know what the Pakistani Army Chief said?

General Munir said that the Pakistani community is a community of brave people who understand the importance of freedom and how to pay for it. Whether it is 1948, 1965, 1971 or the Kargil war of 1999, thousands of soldiers have sacrificed their lives for the country and Islam. This is being considered the first confession of the Pakistani army in the last 25 years. However, before this, no general of the Pakistani army had given such a clear statement about the Kargil war while in office.

PAK kept denying the use of army in Kargil war

Earlier, Pakistan has been claiming from the beginning that Kashmiri militants, whom it calls Mujahideen, were involved in the Kargil war. Due to this, it had also refused to take the bodies of its soldiers killed in the Kargil war. After which India cremated the Pakistani soldiers with full military honors.

Kargil started with the infiltration of PAK army and terrorists into Indian territory

Let us tell you that the Kargil war started with the infiltration of Pakistani soldiers and terrorists into Indian territory, with the aim of capturing strategic places in the Kargil district. The conflict ended with India’s decisive victory and the withdrawal of Pakistani forces from the region. At that time, the international community, including the US and other major countries, criticized Pakistan for its role in the conflict.
