Balochistan province has the largest area in India’s neighboring country Pakistan. This is the reason why Balochistan is the largest province of Pakistan. But despite being the largest province, its population is the lowest. Now the question is why blood keeps flowing here all the time. To know this, first we have to understand how Balochistan was formed.
How was Balochistan created?
Let us tell you that Balochistan is made up of four different princely states. Which includes Kalat, Makran, Las Bela and Kharan. Actually, when India and Pakistan were divided, there were many princely states in India, similarly there were many princely states in Pakistan too. Most of these princely states did not want to merge and wanted to remain independent. But due to the efforts of Sardar Patel, all the princely states were merged in India. Similarly, princely states were merged in Pakistan too.
Merger of states into Pakistan
According to the information, three princely states of Balochistan, Makran, Las Bela and Kharan, immediately agreed to merge with Pakistan. But Ahmed Yar Khan, the head of Kalat princely state, was not ready for the merger. At that time, he used to call Pakistan’s Mohammad Ali Jinnah his father, but he wanted Kalat to become a separate country and not merge with any other country. But after pressure from Pakistan and long negotiations, on 27 March 1948, Ahmed Yar Khan agreed to the terms of merger with Pakistan. But Ahmed Yar Khan’s brothers Prince Abdul Karim and Prince Mohammad Rahim rebelled.
Let us tell you that both the rebel brothers together had formed an army of about a thousand fighters, they named that army Dosht-e-Jhalavan. The army of these two brothers started attacking the Pakistani army. But after the Pakistani army retaliated, both the brothers fled to Afghanistan. But Afghanistan also did not help them. After this they had to return to Kalat, after coming here the Pakistani army arrested both of them and sent them to jail. This was the first time when there was a rebellion in Balochistan.
Independence from Pakistan
The people of Balochistan have always wanted independence from Pakistan. These freedom struggles were led by Nawab Nauroz Khan and Sher Mohammad Bijrani Mari. But they were not successful. Finally, in 1970, Pakistani President Yahya Khan declared Balochistan as the fourth province of West Pakistan. This further infuriated the people of Balochistan. After this, when the government of Balochistan was dissolved in 1973 and martial law was imposed there, the rebellion spread even more rapidly.

Let us tell you that Balochistan is the largest province of Pakistan. But the population there is less. According to the report of 2017, the population of Balochistan is 1 crore 23 lakhs. 96 percent of which are Muslims, apart from this, 2.7 percent of the total population are Christians and the population of Hindus is 0.5 percent. It also shares its borders with Iran, Afghanistan and the Arabian Sea.
