Pakistan did wonders with cow dung, it is being used at these places

Pakistan has done a tremendous experiment with cow dung. Yes, Pakistan has made fuel from cow dung and it is being used to run buses. This experiment of Pakistan has been so successful that it is being discussed everywhere. Not only this, it is also helping in reducing air pollution.

Fuel from cow dung

Let us tell you that for the last many years, cow has been used in Karachi city of Pakistan. A fleet of more than 200 buses is being run on cow dung. That means the fuel used in these buses is made entirely from cow dung. The city of Karachi has a bus network called Green Bus Rapid Transit (BRT), which uses cow dung to run its buses.

The buses run on cow dung fuel

Let us tell you that these buses run on cow dung i.e. bio methane gas. There are more than 4 lakh cows and buffaloes in Pakistan. The project was also financed by the United Nations-backed Green Climate Fund and the Asian Development Bank. In this, bacteria react with cow dung to produce gases like methane, carbon dioxide, nitrogen, oxygen and sulfur dioxide. The methane is separated. It is then transported to the CNG tanks at the bus depot.

Pollution is reducing

Not only this, this unique project not only claimed to reduce the air pollution of Pakistan. Not only is it increasing, water pollution is also decreasing. Let us tell you that the feces and urine of milch animals reach the sea through rivers. Due to which the water source is continuously becoming dirty. According to the report, about 3,200 tonnes of dung and urine are thrown into the sea every day in Pakistan. Even for flushing and cleaning it, more than 50 thousand gallons of water is wasted.

Use of cowdung fuel in buses

Let us tell you that the buses in which cowdung fuel are used, they run in a 30 kilometer corridor in Karachi. Thousands of people travel through these every day. Let us tell you that for this, 25 new bus stations were built, which have modern pedestrian crossings, sidewalks, cycle lanes and even bike rental facilities. In Karachi, these buses are running successfully on cow dung fuel. According to the information, such buses will soon run on the roads of cities like Lahore, Multan, Peshawar and Faisalabad. These are green buses with zero percent pollution. The cost of this entire project is approximately 583 million dollars, out of which the Green Climate Fund is providing approximately 49 million dollars.
