It is being told that this incident happened in Tank district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Voters were voting peacefully for the new government. Then some gunmen started firing bullets at the vehicles of the security forces present there. A security officer died after being hit by it.
However, despite this attack, voting is going on. The deployment of security personnel has been increased at the polling station where the incident took place. Earlier, internet has been suspended in the entire country due to security reasons. It is expected to be restored after the elections.
Caretaker federal information minister Murtaza Solangi and Pakistan Muslim League (N) (PML-N) chief Shehbaz Sharif were among the early voters. To ensure security, the country’s border with Iran and Afghanistan has been sealed.
On the eve of voting, several people were confirmed dead and dozens of civilians injured in twin terrorist attacks in Pishin and Qila Saifullah in Balochistan province.
9% voting in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa:
According to Dawn News report, till 11:30 am only 9% voting took place in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province. However, it is expected that after lunch people will finish their work and come to vote.
