Pakistan Elections 2024: Currently, results have been announced for only 255 seats out of 265 in the National Assembly of Pakistan. Even two days after the general elections on February 8, counting of votes is still going on.
Meanwhile, a big statement has come from the acting Prime Minister of Pakistan, Anwar-ul-Haq Kakar, in which, sensing the situation of the current election results, he has expressed the possibility of forming a coalition government in the country. After these results, there are more expectations of a ‘hung Parliament’.
Anwar-ul-Haq Kakar says that there was no political motive for shutting down communication channels and social media. Such a decision was taken only due to security reasons.
PTI alleges delay in election results
The important thing is that this comment of acting PM Kakar has come at a time when PTI, the party of jailed former Prime Minister Imran Khan, is accusing the Election Commission officials of deliberately declaring the results late. Serious allegations have been made of rigging and deliberately suspending the internet in favor of Nawaz Sharif and his party PML-N.
Two terrorist incidents took place in Balochistan even before the elections.
Anwar-ul-Haq Kakar said, “The responsibility of the caretaker government was to ensure security. Before the elections, two terrorist incidents had taken place in Balochistan province which reminded the people of the real-time threat. Due to this, the officers had to ensure security. Orders were given to shut down communication channels, which had no political significance.
‘Army’s involvement in previous elections’
The acting PM has accepted the involvement of the army in the earlier elections in Pakistan. He said that Pakistan is a transitional and developmental democracy. It cannot be denied that whenever there is a change of power, there has been a tussle.
