Pakistan Election Results 2024: The election results of 265 seats of Pakistan’s National Assembly are almost out now. Former Prime Minister regarding these election results Imran Khan And his party Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has expressed dissatisfaction and displeasure. PTI workers have made serious allegations of alleged rigging in the results of general elections and took to the streets to protest in different cities of Pakistan.

According to Geo News report, PTI workers protested outside the District Election Commissioner office in Sadiqabad, Rawalpindi. During this time, police personnel deployed in Rawalpindi also allegedly used tear gas to disperse the protesters. They also resorted to lathi charge to drive them away.

Roads to District Election Commission office closed

According to The Express Tribune report, PTI supporters protesting in Rawalpindi against alleged rigging of election results were also arrested. The police had also made complete arrangements to stop the protesters. The police closed all the entry gates leading to the District Election Commission office.

Sensing the situation, many top officers were also deployed in the area to deal with the situation. Due to the closure of the district office, the way to the press club was also obstructed. According to the report, after the closure of the ECP office, PTI supporters gathered near Murree Road.

Some PTI workers also protested outside Sukkur Press Club. To deal with all these protests, strict instructions were also given to all the police stations and they were asked to take action in the area under their jurisdiction.

PTI released video of protest

According to the report of Pakistani media Geo News, PTI’s Azad candidates from NA-200 and PS-24 Gohar Khoso and Safia Baloch led all these protests. A video has also been shared by PTI regarding the protests, in which a large number of supporters were seen protesting against the election results.

Efforts to form coalition government intensified in Pakistan

On the other hand, after the election results, the politics of manipulation regarding government formation has also intensified in Pakistan. Pakistan Muslim League (Nawaz) supremo Nawaz Sharif claims that his party has emerged as the largest party in the elections. Due to this, PML-N has intensified its efforts to form a coalition government.

Importantly, on Friday (9 February 2024), Nawaz Sharif’s brother and former Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif had a special meeting with Pakistan Peoples Party leader Asif Ali Zardari and his son Bilawal Bhutto in Lahore. During this time, there have also been reports of agreement between the two parties on forming a coalition government.
