Regarding this attack, former High Commissioner of India to Pakistan Ajay Bisaria has made many revelations in his new book ‘Anger Management: The Troubled Diplomatic Relationship between India and Pakistan’. According to HT report, the US Ambassador to Pakistan met Nawaz Sharif after the incident in September 2016, in which 19 soldiers were martyred. Pakistan’s terrorist organization Jaish-e-Mohammed (JEM) was held responsible for this attack. America had handed over some evidence related to this to Pakistan.
America had solid evidence
Former High Commissioner Ajay Bisaria was working in Pakistan from 2017 to 2020. He has written in his book about the information about the collusion of ISI in planning the Uri attacks. He has written that the evidence was so strong that Sharif asked for an investigation against the Pakistani Army. However, later due to these reasons, he was removed from the post of chief by the PML-N party in 2017 and had to leave the country the very next year in 2018.
However, Bisaria did not reveal the name of the American envoy who met Sharif. At that time David Hale was the US Ambassador to Pakistan.

Disappointed with the information given by the US on the role of ISI in the Uri attack, Sharif called a meeting of civilian and military leaders in the Prime Minister’s Office to discuss the matter. Then Pakistan’s Foreign Secretary Aizaz Ahmed Chaudhary had said that the country was facing diplomatic isolation. This meeting was first reported by Pakistan’s Dawn newspaper in October 2016. This gave rise to a controversy which came to be known as Dawngate.
