Pakistan Latest News: A case of gas explosion has come to light in Balochistan province of Pakistan. About 12 miners have died due to this accident. In the ongoing rescue operation on the spot, security personnel have been successful in saving about 8 miners. According to the news published in Pakistan’s Dawn newspaper, this incident is being reported from Zardalo area of ​​Harnai district.

Balochistan’s Chief Mines Inspector Abdul Ghani Baloch said about this incident that when this incident happened in Zardalo area, about 20 workers were present in the mine. According to Ghani, relief work has been completed at the incident site by Wednesday morning. During this period, the rescue team has recovered 12 bodies, while 8 miners have been safely evacuated and admitted to the hospital.

Baloch said that two bodies were recovered in the night while 10 more bodies were recovered in the morning. According to Dawn news, the province’s Director General of Mining Abdullah Shahwani has also confirmed the death toll in this accident. Pakistan Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif has expressed deep sorrow for those killed in the accident. According to Pakistan Radio, the Prime Minister has directed to provide all possible medical treatment to the injured miners.

Describing such incidents as extremely painful and tragic, he said that the government will provide all possible relief to the injured and affected families. Balochistan province contributes 50 percent to Pakistan’s coal production. Mine accidents are common in Pakistan. This is mainly due to gas. At the same time, mine workers have repeatedly complained that such accidents occur frequently due to lack of safety and poor working conditions in coal mines.

In December last year, a fire broke out in a private mine in the Duki coal field of Balochistan, in which 2 coal miners were killed and 3 others were injured. At the same time, in the month of September, three workers were buried under the debris due to the collapse of a coal mine in Jamshoro, Sindh. In February the same year, 3 miners were killed and 4 others were injured in two coal mine accidents in the Duki and Sharagh coal fields. In the year 2022, 6 miners died due to a gas explosion inside a coal mine in Harnai district.
