This time, in a country with a population of 24 crore, about 12 crore people are eligible to vote. This time a total of 44 parties are trying their luck in Pakistan. These include Nawaz Sharif’s party Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), Imran Khan Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s party (PTI) and Bilawal Bhutto’s Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) are important.
60 seats reserved for women
5,121 candidates are in the fray for the National Assembly of Pakistan. There are a total of 342 seats in the National Assembly. Of these, 272 are decided through direct voting on the polling day, while 70 seats are reserved. Among the reserved seats, 60 seats are reserved for women and 10 for non-Muslims.
Elections are conducted through ballot paper
EVM machines are not used in Pakistan elections. There voting is done through ballot paper. According to the information, 26 crore ballot papers have been printed for the elections to be held on February 8. In Pakistan, at the time of voting through ballot paper, a government official is present at every polling booth.
After the voting is over, the officers deployed at all the polling booths count the ballot papers by hand with the help of other employees. After which the result is announced.
