Pakistan Government Launches Operation: Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif has decided to launch a military operation to end the growing rebellion and terrorism in the country. Meanwhile, the National Action Plan Committee headed by Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif has approved ‘Operation Azm-e-Istehkam’. The purpose of this operation is to end the growing terrorism in Pakistan. However, the Pakistan government has taken this decision after receiving threats from China.
Actually, this operation will be carried out in all the states of Pakistan along with Gilgit-Baltistan and Pakistan occupied Kashmir. However, other opposition parties including Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, the party of former Prime Minister of Pakistan, have strongly opposed it. All the parties say that no advice has been taken from the Parliament for this operation.
Know what is military operation Azm-e-Istehkam?
According to a report by Pakistan’s media outlet Tribune, the aim of Operation Azm-e-Istehkam is to end the growing extremism and terrorism in the country. This operation of the armed forces will proceed with all legal agencies. In this, laws will be made to remove the legal loopholes that hinder cases related to terrorism. This fight against terrorism is Pakistan’s own war. In this, no one from Pakistan will be allowed to challenge the authority of the state.
Decision taken under pressure from China
Terrorists are continuously harming China’s ambitious project CPEC in Pakistan. Two terrorist attacks took place in the month of March this year. The Baloch Liberation Army carried out these attacks. This organization tried to infiltrate the Gwadar Port Authority Complex and targeted a convoy of Chinese engineers in Shangla district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and killed five Chinese engineers by detonating a bomb.
Regarding this, Liu Jianchao, Minister of International Department of Communist Party of China, had a meeting with the leaders of Pakistan’s political parties in Islamabad recently. In which he had strongly reprimanded the Pakistan government, however, after this the Chinese politician had a separate meeting with Pakistan’s Army Chief Asim Munir. Only after this the Pakistan government approved the campaign against terrorism.
