want to do bench strength
Talking to the media, Afridi said, “I want to make two Pakistan teams by the end of my tenure, so that the bench strength of the team can be strengthened. In the absence of Shaheen Afridi and Naseem Shah, Pakistan’s fast bowlers could not perform well in the recently played Test match. Haris Rauf was able to play in only one of the three Test matches against England and the team was defeated in that match.
Supported Babar Azam on this matter
Talking further, Shahid Afridi supported the captain of the team, Babar Azam. In the first Test match played against New Zealand, Captain Babar got the match declared an innings drawn. Afridi said about this, “He is the backbone of the Pakistan team and we will support him. It was a good decision by him to declare the innings.
Afridi further said, “He wants to be a line of communication between the players and the selectors. I think earlier there was a lack of communication between the players and the selectors. I talked to the players personally to know about their problems. I spoke to Haris Sohail and Fakhar Zaman and took their tests. I believe that there should be a direct communication between the players and the selection committee.
