Many varieties of parathas are available here, but the parathas of Pandit ji of Indore are unique. Some people describe the taste of these parathas as better than Delhi. The owner of the shop says that parathas are fried in Delhi, but in our shop the parathas are baked.
Pandit ji’s parathas are famous for their taste and variety. This shop is very old. The owner of the shop, Rakesh Purohit told that the oldest paratha shop in Indore is ours, which was started by our father. Our father started this shop in Geeta Bhawan area in 1968. Earlier we used to sell tea, poha and sandwiches, but we have been making parathas for the last 35 years.
Since Indore has developed as an education hub, the number of students visiting our shop has increased. They used to demand to eat bread and vegetables. After that we completely focused on parathas. Presently we have three shops inside Indore. These shops are located at Geeta Bhawan, Jail Road and Bhawar Kuan. Earlier we used to make only potato parathas. Then gradually, on the demand of the people, Paneer Paratha, Cheese Paratha, Onion Paratha were also made.
He told that Sev Paratha was first made by us. People used to ask for different tests. Then the idea came in our mind that Sev Paratha can also be made. He told that people from far and wide come to eat the parathas of our shop. Along with this, there are many people who get the parathas packed and taken away. Along with the taste, our treats are also liked by our customers. Paratha starts from Rs.10 in our shop. Different varieties have different rates.
