Villagers in Firozabad, Uttar Pradesh were shocked to see a seven feet long crocodile. The forest department and wildlife team were immediately informed about it. The team rescued the crocodile safely and sent it to its natural habitat.

The incident is of Darapur Raseni village of Jasrana tehsil and Hathwant area. The villagers panicked when they saw a crocodile roaming in the village. The crocodile was seen in a pond. Later it entered a narrow pit nearby. When the villagers came to know about it, they immediately informed the forest department team.

On receiving the information, Wildlife SOS team was contacted on their emergency helpline number for assistance in the rescue operation. A three-member team of the Forest Department and NGO reached the village. The team carefully set up a cage to catch the crocodile. After waiting for a long time, they finally succeeded in capturing the crocodile in the cage.

After medical examination on the spot, it was released into its natural habitat. Kartick Satyanarayan, Co-founder and CEO of Wildlife SOS, said, “Crocodile access to the village through the canal leading to agricultural fields. It is necessary that we be sensitive to the presence of wild animals and learn to co-exist. We thank the Forest Department for its assistance in reducing human-animal conflict situations.

Meanwhile, NGO’s Director Conservation Projects, Baijuraj MV said, “Earlier also we have rescued crocodiles from Firozabad, who were trapped in a conflict situation. Forest Range Officer Priyanka Yadav praised the NGO’s initiative and said that they have done the work of saving the crocodile. She expressed gratitude to the Wildlife SOS team for the expert assistance in conducting such a sensitive rescue and release operation.
