Necessary preparations for purchase should be complete at paddy purchasing centres. Farmers will be paid within 48 hours of paddy purchase. This was discussed in the workshop held on Friday. DM Anuj Singh organized a workshop regarding the purchasing policy of paddy purchase in the Collectorate auditorium.
In which District Food Marketing Officer Rajeshwar Pratap Singh said that 60 paddy purchasing centers have been opened in the district. Center in-charges have been deployed at all the purchasing centres. The Mandi Committee has completed the necessary arrangements for procurement at all the centres. This year the support price of common paddy is Rs 2300 per quintal.
A maximum of Rs 20 per quintal will be spent by farmers at the center on unloading or sifting paddy. This will be given to the farmers by linking it with the support price of paddy in their account. The appointment process of transport contractors at the centers is at the final stage. Paddy is likely to arrive at the centers between October 10 and 15.
A receipt will also be made available to the farmers by the center in-charge after purchasing it from the farmers at the paddy purchasing centre. Farmers will be paid within 48 hours. Sacks will be provided by the agencies. The DM said that the paddy purchasing center in-charge will definitely contact at least 20 farmers every day after taking out the list of last year’s farmers.
Note down farmers’ suggestions and complaints
The suggestions or complaints given by the farmers will be noted in the problem register. The purchasing center in-charges of all the agencies will maintain uniform records at the paddy purchasing centers. Paddy will be transported from paddy purchasing centers only through GPS equipped vehicles.
Paddy purchasing center in-charge will keep only electronic forks verified by watt measurement at the centres. ADM Administration Gulab Chandra and representatives of paddy purchasing related organizations were present in the workshop.
