PCB U TURN Likely To Foil ICC’s 100 Day Plan For ODI World Cup 2023 Schedule

ICC ODI World Cup 2023 Schedule: The official schedule of the ICC ODI World Cup to be held in India may have to wait longer. The ICC had almost fixed the date of June 27 for the announcement of the schedule. Exactly 100 days after this date, the tournament was to start from October 5, but Zaka Ashraf, the possible new chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), has indicated to wait and prolong it with his statement.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and the ICC had planned to announce the schedule in a big way on 27 June. But Zaka Ashraf made it clear in his statement that there are many issues that need to be resolved before participating in this mega event. At the same time, Zaka Ashraf has also ruled out organizing the Asia Cup under the hybrid model.

Zaka Ashraf said in the press conference that there are many challenges before Pakistan. Many years cases have to be resolved. Now is the Asia Cup and then the World Cup. There are many issues ranging from the preparations of the team. I do not want to make any statement against anyone. Till now I have not held this post. Once I take over the responsibility, after that I will see what the circumstances are. I do not believe in hiding anything from the media. We all work for the betterment of Pakistan.

Pakistan may demand to play at natural venue

In order to take part in the ODI World Cup, Pakistan can place a demand for its matches to be held at some other place instead of India. ICC and BCCI will not accept his demand at any cost. At the same time, due to this attitude of Zaka Ashraf regarding the Asia Cup, the relationship between BCCI and PCB is likely to deteriorate further. Earlier, Pakistan had demanded to change the venue of the matches against Australia and Afghanistan in the ODI World Cup. This too was rejected by the ICC.
