PDS dealers will no longer be able to rig, they will be able to give ration to only 3 people in a day, new system implemented

Jaipur. More new measures are being taken to prevent irregularities in government ration distribution. Now only three people will get ration through OTP in a day. The ration dealer will be able to give ration to only three people in a day. Apart from this, the process of finger print and iris will remain the same as before.

The government had started the OTP scheme to prevent fraud in the food security scheme. But when fraud continued in this scheme, changes were made again. Now the dealer will be able to give ration to only three beneficiaries in a day. There must be a gap of more than 30 minutes between them i.e. between giving ration.

If finger print is not found then OTP will be sent
Ration is given to ration card holders on the basis of POS machine. But sometimes the machine is unable to take the finger print of the beneficiary due to the lines on his hand getting worn out or due to any skin related problem. In such a case, ration is given by confirming the fingerprint of any member of the beneficiary’s family or by sending OTP to the registered mobile number.

attempt to prevent disturbance
The department is constantly receiving complaints that ration dealers are doing fraud by sending OTP to the phone number linked to Janadhaar or Aadhar card. For those consumers who do not pick up the ration wheat, the dealers are sending OTP to their phone numbers and confirming it, and then picking up their share of ration and selling it in the market. To stop this fraud, the department has decided to distribute ration by sending only three OTPs in a day on an experimental basis.

Ration from iris scan
Earlier ration was available only through finger print and then OTP. But many times many ration card holders were deprived of ration due to finger print not being detected in POS machine. After this, the department had come up with a new way of giving ration by scanning the iris of the eyes. Which has now been implemented. Now wing machine with iris scanner has also been provided for the beneficiaries. With this, information can be confirmed by scanning the iris of the beneficiary’s eye.
