Ghevar is a sweet which is prepared in different shapes. This same sweet is prepared in 5 ways and its taste is amazing. Ghevar is one of the most famous sweets of Jaipur. One such sweet shop is Ghevar Bhandar located in Chardiwari Bazaar of Jaipur which was started in 1975. Satyanarayan Pitaliya, who has been running this shop for years, says that five types of Ghevar have been made here for 70 years, so this is the only shop in Jaipur where Ghevar sweet is made all the time.

Satyanarayan Pitaliya tells that Ghevar is such a unique sweet which is prepared in 5 different shapes in which it is prepared in different varieties like big size Ghevar, mini Ghevar, Mawa Ghevar, Paneer Ghevar, dry fruits Ghevar and Rabri Ghevar. The smaller the size of this sweet, the tastier and more expensive it is. Satyanarayan Pitaliya tells that the price of Ghevar sweet generally ranges from Rs. 300 per kg to Rs. 1000. There is so much demand during weddings and festive season that Ghevar has to be prepared day and night.

How to make this special sweet
Generally Ghevar is made by adding ghee to the milk and flour batter. After preparing the batter well, it is fried in ghee or oil in a hot pan and then after dipping it in sugar syrup, it is taken out and a layer of mawa, paneer and rabri is applied on it. There is also a very normal Ghevar which is without sugar syrup and is called Fika Ghevar. People buy this too in large numbers and then add sugar syrup to it at home. Ghevar sweet is prepared in both the forms of desi ghee and oil, the only difference between oil and ghee is its taste and price.
