Something similar prevails at Barmer’s Naresh Kumar’s cart, where relish is being served since 28 years. People are crazy about their Kachori and Dahi Fafde. Report: Manmohan Seju

Mogar’s Kachori and Dahi Fafde are popular in Barmer. People wait for the evening to eat this dish. This process of waiting is about 28 years old. Here Naresh Kumar Vyas serves a treasure of taste in the narrow streets of the city, which people come from far and wide to taste.

Naresh Kumar Vyas sets up a stall of Mogar’s Kachori and Dahi Fafde just in front of Manak Hospital at Barmer district headquarters. He sets up his cart only in the evening. People queue up to eat this dish made by their hands and when their turn comes, people get ready to taste it.

Once upon a time, the king used to serve the taste of every street in a chhabdi made of bamboo wood. Then for 15 years he sets up a handcart at the same place. He has now passed on the skills of his father Mishri Lal Vyas to the third generation.

His wife Santosh Shrimali and 3 children also help in Naresh’s work. His father used to sell moong dal halwa and namkeen earlier. Now Naresh sells Mogar’s Kachori, Dahi Fafde, Pani Puri and Dahi Puri on his cart.

Around 5000 pani puris, around 400 kachoris and 5 kg gram flour fafdas are sold in a day. Naresh says that people come from far and wide to eat his hand made Dahi Fafde, Dahi Kachori and Mogar Kachori.
