186 overweight people were included in the research. Their average age was 47 years. All the people involved in this research were made to wear an accelerometer and continuous glucose monitor for 14 days to track physical activity and glucose levels 24 hours a day.

Exercise in the evening improves glucose levels in people with impaired glucose metabolism, such as those with high glucose  or  fasting insulin imbalance, but this effect was seen in both male and female participants.

Exercising during the day also affects glucose levels, but for those who are overweight, insulin imbalance and at risk of type-2 diabetes, exercising in the evening is very beneficial. Exercising on time greatly benefits cardio-metabolism.
