Three pro-Khalistan terrorists who attacked a police post in Punjab with a grenade were killed in a joint action by Punjab and Pilibhit police. An encounter took place with terrorists on Madhotanda road in Puranpur area on Monday morning. Two soldiers have been injured in this. Three of the terrorists’ bullets hit the car of Puranpur police station in-charge. Two AK-47, two foreign pistols and a stolen bike have been recovered from the terrorists. Additional Director General of Police (Law and Order) Amitabh Yash said that when the terrorists had come, where they stayed and what were their local connections, it is being investigated.

According to Punjab Police Director General Gaurav Yadav, the terrorists have been identified as Gurvinder Singh (25), Varinder Singh alias Ravi (23) and Jasanpreet Singh alias Pratap Singh (18). All three were residents of Gurdaspur district in Punjab. He was accused of attacking Bakshiwal post of Kalanaur police station.

Pilibhit SP Avinash Pandey said that around 4:30 am on Monday, the police of Kalanaur police station reached here and informed about the criminals being in Puranpur. After this, a joint team of UP and Punjab Police was formed and the search was started.

Meanwhile, at around 5:30 in the morning, a cordon was laid near Khamaria Patti to stop three suspects going on a bike. All three turned towards Madhotanda road. Seeing themselves surrounded there, the terrorists started firing. All three were injured in the firing from both sides. He was brought to the Community Health Center for treatment and later to the District Hospital, where he died. Pandey said, constable Shahnawaz and Sumit Rathi of Bijnor who were injured in the encounter are undergoing treatment.

All three were associated with Khalistan Zindabad Force

According to Punjab Police, all three terrorists were associated with Khalistan Zindabad Force (KZF). The leader was Varinder, a resident of Agwan. Punjab DIG Satinder Singh said that after the grenade attack, there was information about terrorists hiding in Pilibhit. Police is finding out why the terrorists chose Pilibhit and whose numberless bike they found.

Big success against Pakistan sponsored module

Punjab DGP Gaurav Yadav said, on December 18, there was a grenade attack on Bakshiwal police post. Khalistan Zindabad Force had claimed responsibility for the attack through social media. The encounter is a major success against Pakistan sponsored terrorist modules. There have been three blasts in the districts of Punjab this month. According to preliminary investigation, the control of the module was in the hands of KZF chief Ranjit Singh Neeta. It was being operated by Jaswinder Singh Mannu, living in Greece, who himself is a resident of Agwan village of Kalanaur.
