Residents of Kanshiram Shahri Awas in Aligarh created a ruckus at the Mayor’s residence on June 23 after a water pipeline broke down. People said that there is a water crisis in the area. They are having to wander around for water.
People told that the regional councilor’s husband Shivkumar Lodhi was getting the area dug with a JCB. On asking, the councilor’s husband told that a drain will be constructed here. That is why the pit is being dug. People told that during this time a 5 to 6 feet deep pit was dug. While digging the pit, the water pipeline also broke. This caused a water crisis in the area. After this, people reached the mayor’s residence and started creating a ruckus.
While complaining to the mayor, they said that if the water is not stopped in time by connecting the pipeline, then the buildings of Kanshiram Awas can also collapse. While complaining to the mayor about the councilor’s husband, people said that he misbehaves with people every day
It is proposed to construct a drain in the area. The contractor got the digging done at the wrong place. Due to which the pipeline got damaged. Talks will be held with the councillor’s husband on the allegations of the local people. – Prashant Singhal, Mayor
