The district administration is busy finalizing the preparations for the world famous Pitru Paksha Mela starting from September 17. For the convenience of pilgrims coming to Gayadham by road, all arrangements have been completed at big and small vehicle parking, accommodation site as well as all the altar sites. In this regard, Gaya DM Dr. Tyag Rajan SM said that on the occasion of the world famous Pitru Paksha Mela 2024, the work of repair of permanent toilets and bathrooms at various altar ghat sites, passenger and police accommodation and parking area, temporary toilets and bathrooms, installation of pre-fabricated toilets and bathrooms and repair of drinking water tap, motor, tank and tap connection has been completed.
Proper arrangements on these altars
The DM informed that the work included repairing of Mahila Jharna bathroom unit (10 Jharna) and Male Jharna bathroom unit (10 Jharna) installed earlier at Veddi Ghat site like Devghat Veddi site, installation of 10 units of pre-fabricated (FRP) cloth changing room, arrangement of 2 units of cold water cooler and filter at the control room of Veddi Ghat site, repair of all 7 hand pumps in the courtyard, which was finalised on 09 September. At the same time, installation of 5 units of pre-fabricated bathing room for men and 5 units for women at Shamshan Ghat, motor, 2 tanks and 5 tap connections in boring, installation of 5 units of pre-fabricated (FRP) cloth changing room, repair work of 3 hand pumps is included. Similarly, at the Pretshila altar ghat site ground, repair work of 4 units of permanent toilets for men and 5 units for women, 3 units of bathrooms, one drinking water stall and 9 tap connections is included. Along with this, all preparations have been completed for the convenience of pilgrims in the fair areas including Pretshila altar, Vetarni Sarovar, Dharmarnya altar, Saraswati altar, Matangvapi altar, Brahmavedi and Kagwali altar, Ramshila altar, Suryakund pond and Sitakund altar.
Vehicles will be parked at these locations
He informed that parking places have been selected for the convenience of pilgrims coming to Gaya Dham by road. During the fair, Gaya College Sports Complex, Kenduyi, Kisan College Campus near Pretshila Vedi, Manpur Bhusunda Bus Stand have been selected for big vehicles. At the same time a parking lot for small vehicles has been made in Sameeratkya Infection Hospital Campus in the heart of the city. Where temporary toilets, drinking water and lighting arrangements have been made. Along with this, permanent toilets and bathrooms have been arranged as per requirement at 33 tourist sites and 27 police camp sites.
