The district administration team is busy finalizing the preparations for the Pitru Paksha Mela starting from September 17 in Gaya, Bihar. To make the fair memorable, DM Dr. Tyagarajan SM held review meetings with the concerned officials. In the meeting, the number of pilgrims is expected to increase in the Pitru Paksha Mela this year. In this regard, the DM informed that this year the Pitru Paksha Mela is being organized from September 17 to October 2.
Every year, the number of pilgrims is increasing continuously in the Pitru Paksha Mela. Keeping this in mind, the preparations have to be improved. He told that for the convenience of the pilgrims, free counters are set up by voluntary organizations at various places. It will be mandatory for the people setting up the stalls to take license, no stall will be set up without license. No stall or pandal of any kind will be set up on the road or in narrow lanes. Keeping security in mind, the fair area has been divided into 42 zones. Officers have been deputed in 42 zones. The DM told that NCC and Scout and Guide volunteers will be deployed near various altar sites, lakes. Officers will be specially deputed in Vishnupad temple premises and narrow lanes.
Police camp will be near Pindvedis
Gaya’s Senior SP Ashish Bharti said that police camps are being set up near various altar sites of Bodh Gaya. Apart from this, CCTV cameras are being installed at all major places, altar sites, parking places, checking points, drop gate points. So that the pilgrims coming to Gaya from the country and abroad can be kept safe. This year too, there will be ring bus facility. E-rickshaws will be used to reach Vishnupad from the bypass.
The fair area will be dazzled with light
He also said that the pilgrims should not face any kind of problems. For this the district administration is making special arrangements. This time special arrangements are being made for lighting in the fair area. The entire fair area will be lit up with lights.
Cleaning started by dividing into 61 zones
Only a few days are left for the Pitrupaksha Mela to begin. To ensure that the visiting pilgrims see better cleanliness in the Mela area, the district administration has divided the area into 61 zones for cleaning. Seven hundred cleaners will be deployed every day. Before this, the health check-up of all the cleaners was done.
