There are preparations to launch 15 MEMU trains from Lucknow to Kanpur, Pratapgarh, Rae Bareli, Shahjahanpur and Sitapur routes. This will provide relief to about 45 thousand daily commuters.
During Corona, operation of mail, express and passenger including MEMU trains was also stopped. After this, when Covid ended, gradually all the trains came back on track, but the operation of MEMU remained stopped. On the continuous demand of daily passengers, Northern Railway Lucknow Division Administration started MEMU between Lucknow and Kanpur, which was converted into Express and put on track. This train got very good response from the passengers.

In such a situation, on the demand of passengers, preparations are now being made to run 15 trains to different destinations. Railway officials say that the new rakes of MEMU will provide relief to the passengers. The racks are ready. These have to be allocated. It is expected that trains may be back on track within a month.
Sources reveal that the new MEMU trains will be operated on routes from Lucknow to Kanpur, Pratapgarh, Rae Bareli, Barabanki, Hardoi, Sitapur etc. With this, daily commuters will not need expensive bus travel. Will be able to come to Lucknow by traveling at cheap rates.
