PM Modi on NCHAC Election: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has retained power in the North Cachar Hill Autonomous Council (NCHAC) of Assam. The party has won 25 seats of the 30-member governing body of Dima Hasao district. Officials gave this information on Friday (January 12).

‘Belief in PM Modi’s developmental agenda’
On this victory, the Assam Chief Minister said, “The overwhelming mandate given by the people is a confirmation of their faith in PM Modi’s developmental agenda in North Cachar Hills Autonomous Council.” He said, “This victory has come for another reason. About 35 percent of the people in this beautiful area belong to the Christian community. His blessings reflect the success of Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas and Sabka Prayas. My gratitude to every BJP worker for their hard work.
BJP captures 25 seats
Officials said that the counting of votes started at 8 am on Friday and ended late in the evening. He said that BJP won 25 seats, out of which it won six seats unopposed. He said that voting for the 13th NCHAC was held on January 8. During this period 85.78 people had used their votes.
Outgoing NCHAC chief executive member Debolal Garlosa won from Dehangi constituency. He said that three seats were won by independent candidates. NCHAC has 30 members, of which 28 are elected and two are nominated.
