PM Modi presides over CEC meeting first list of BJP candidates for Lok Sabha elections may be released today


BJP CEC Meet: The meeting of BJP’s Central Election Committee (CEC) lasted till late night at the party headquarters in Delhi on Thursday (29 February) to finalize the first list of candidates for the Lok Sabha elections 2024. At around 1.30 in the night the leaders started coming out of the headquarters. Prime Minister in this meeting chaired by BJP President JP Nadda Narendra Modi Also remained involved. There was discussion on the names of the candidates in the meeting.

According to news agency IANS, sources said that on Friday (March 1) Lok Sabha Elections The first list of BJP candidates may be released.

Who all attended the meeting?

Apart from PM Modi and BJP President JP Nadda, Union Home Minister in this meeting Amit ShahUnion Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, National Organization General Secretary BL Santosh, Union Minister Bhupendra Yadav, Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, K Laxman and Iqbal Singh Lalpura and other members of the Central Election Committee were present.

According to sources, before the Central Election Committee meeting, a high-level meeting of Union Home Minister Amit Shah and BJP President JP Nadda was also held at the official residence of Prime Minister Modi.

Brainstorming on names of candidates for more than 150 seats in the states

According to sources, in this Central Election Committee meeting of BJP, many other states and centers including Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat, Telangana, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Kerala, Uttarakhand, Goa, Jharkhand, Delhi, Tripura, Haryana and Jammu and Kashmir were present. Brainstorming took place on the names of candidates for more than 150 Lok Sabha seats in the administered territories.

It is also being told that BJP is trying to finalize the names of candidates for more than 300 Lok Sabha seats by March 10.

Earlier, ABP News had received information from sources that names of 40 high profile leaders including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, Home Minister Amit Shah and Union Minister Smriti Irani may be announced in the first list of BJP candidates. At the same time, names of candidates can be announced on about 80 such seats, where BJP had to face defeat in the last elections. For the Lok Sabha elections, BJP has set a target of winning 370 seats for itself and more than 400 seats for NDA.
