PM Modi Interview: Prime Minister Narendra Modi Recalling his special relationship with late former Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu Jayalalitha, in an interview given to a channel, he targeted AIADMK’s exit from NDA.
PM Modi said in an interview to Thanthi TV that he had a special relationship with former Tamil Nadu CM Jayalalitha since 1995 and they were good friends. He said that BJP has no regrets that AIADMK has left NDA but it will definitely because it has disrespected Amma’s principles.
AIADMK hurt Amma’s dreams- PM Modi
PM Modi said, “When I became the Chief Minister in 2002, many people were pointing fingers at me but despite this Amma came to my swearing-in. We had this relationship. Therefore, BJP has no reason to regret but AIADMK definitely will because it hurt Amma’s dreams.
‘I don’t work to win elections’
On BJP not being able to establish its foothold in Tamil Nadu till now, PM Modi said that he did not work only to win the elections. He said that Tamil Nadu can become the driving force of developed India. PM Modi said, “If my aim was only to win elections, I would not have worked for the development of the Northeast. I have visited the North-Eastern states the most compared to all the former Prime Ministers.
PM Modi praised K Annamalai
PM Modi praised BJP’s Tamil Nadu unit president K Annamalai. He said that K Annamalai is the new generation leader of BJP in Tamil Nadu who is attracting the attention of the youth.
PM Modi said, “He (Annamalai) left his bright career and joined BJP, which proves that he gives priority to the country and Tamil Nadu before his personal ambitions.” He could have joined DMK or AIADMK. He has a strong caste support, he is young and outspoken.
