UNGA Summit 2024: Prime Minister Narendra Modi PM Modi mentioned many issues while addressing the 79th United Nations General Assembly session in New York on Monday (September 23). At the beginning of the session, PM Modi said, “Greetings to all of you on behalf of the world’s largest democracy and 140 crore Indians. The people of India have given me the opportunity to serve for the third consecutive time. When we are talking about the global future, the human centric approach should be the first.”

PM Modi said, ‘By taking 25 crore people out of poverty in India, we have shown that sustainable development can be successful. Sustainable development can also be successful. Reform in global institutions is necessary for global peace and development. The membership of African Union in G20 at the New Delhi Summit was an important step in this direction.

PM Modi said, ‘On one hand there is a threat to global peace and security like terrorism and on the other hand many fields like cyber, maritime, space are being developed. I would like to emphasize on all these subjects that global action and global ambition should be the same. Balanced regulation is required for the use of technology.’

PM Modi said, ‘One Earth, One Family, One Future is a commitment for India. India will continue to work with thought, word and deed for global prosperity. The African Union was given permanent membership of G-20 in the New Delhi Summit, which was an important step. We have to ensure human welfare, food, health diet. I will emphasize on all these issues and say that global action should match global ambition. We need such global digital governance, which keeps national sovereignty and integrity intact.’ He said, digital public infrastructure should be a bridge for the people and not a barrier for anyone and India is ready to share this.
