Latest News of PM Modi’s US Visit: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is on a three-day visit to America. During this time, many senior officers are also with him. The PM has also held bilateral talks with the heads of many countries, but this time National Security Advisor (NSA) Ajit Doval is nowhere to be seen with the PM. Many kinds of speculations were being made about his absence with the PM, but now the real reason behind this has come to light.
According to senior officials of the Indian government, NSA Ajit Doval is staying in India not due to any international pressure or any other reason but to deal with the security situation arising out of the ongoing elections in Jammu and Kashmir and other domestic issues. Officials dismissed speculations that Doval has opted out of accompanying the PM on this trip due to a summons issued by a New York court.

In fact, this summons was sent to Ajit Doval in response to a civil suit filed by Khalistani activist and founder of Sikh for Justice Gurpatwant Singh Pannun. Apart from this, a meeting was also held recently between Sikh activists of groups campaigning against the Modi government, which raised the question whether the US government is sending a “sharp message” to New Delhi. On Thursday, the Indian Foreign Ministry called the suit filed by Pannu completely unfair and baseless.
The foreign secretary had spoken of a high-level inquiry
Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri had said in this case that the government is continuing a high-level investigation into the allegations leveled by the US Justice Department against Pannu regarding the alleged murder conspiracy. He said that the US has investigated Pannu regarding the 2002 Gujarat anti-Muslim violence.
