Police have solved the mystery of the dead body found in a container in Bhalswa Dairy area. The deceased has been identified as Kejriwal (45). Police have arrested his friend Virendra on charges of murder. Both were drug addicts and there was a dispute between them regarding money transactions. Both of them used to sleep on the footpath. The accused had absconded after killing his friend. Police got the clue of the accused through CCTV cameras.
Police officer said that the arrested accused has been identified as Virendra alias Kalia, resident of village Pipariya Kaptan, Lakhimpur Kheri UP. On March 27, Bhalswa Dairy Police received information about a dead body buried in the sand in a container parked towards Captain Vikram Batra Chowk (Mukarba Chowk) on GT Karnal Road. Police reached the spot and recovered the dead body of an unidentified man aged around 40-45 years buried in the sand inside the container. The body was in mutilated condition. To identify the deceased, the police kept the body safe in the mortuary and registered a case of murder and concealment of evidence.
District special staff in-charge Pawan Yadav was handed over the investigation of the case. By forming several teams, the police started identifying the deceased and the accused. Police examined the footage of CCTV cameras installed around the incident spot. The footage showed two people entering the container, but only one person coming out. The police examined the footage of 50-60 cameras in the direction of the person’s escape. During local investigation, the deceased was identified as Kejriwal and the accused as Virendra alias Kalia alias West Indies.
People said that both were drug addicts. It was also revealed that both of them used to sleep on the footpath of GT Karnal Road. The police investigated the accused at all the railway stations and bus stands of Delhi including Jamuna Bazaar, Hanuman Temple at Connaught Place, New Delhi Railway Station. On April 11, ASI Naresh got information about the accused coming near GT Karnal bypass, from where he was arrested.
The accused told that in 2010 he had come to Delhi from Lakhimpur Kheri. He started working as a scrap dealer, but he was not satisfied with his earnings and fell into bad company. He started committing crimes to get drunk. He told that he had a dispute with the deceased Kejriwal over money, due to which he beat him to death with kicks, stones and sticks.
