East District Police has arrested a smuggler and his three accomplices from Delhi Cantt area who were carrying ganja hidden in a truck from Cooch Behar in West Bengal. The accused have been identified as Indrapal, a resident of Sonipat in Haryana, Manish, a resident of Faridabad, Lublu Chaudhary, a resident of Ghaziabad in UP and Mohammad Fayaz alias Hafiz, a resident of Gautam Buddh Nagar. Police have recovered about 245.500 kg of ganja and a truck from them. To avoid suspicion from the police, the smugglers used that truck for smuggling, in which an Army and BSF jawan were coming to Delhi with household goods.

Deputy Commissioner of Police of East District Apoorva Gupta told that Anti Narcotics Cell had received information that a driver of a truck with Haryana number plate was coming to Delhi with a large quantity of ganja hidden among household goods. After the information, a trap was laid near Ghazipur Sabzi Mandi on the midnight of June 4-5. There two people were seen unloading plastic boxes from the truck. The team caught both of them. They were identified as truck driver Indrapal from Haryana and helper Manish from Faridabad. On searching, 215 kg of ganja was recovered.

They had hidden the ganja between the household items of an Army jawan and a BSF jawan like table, chair, fridge and other items. During interrogation, accused Indrapal told that this ganja was to be delivered to Lublu Chaudhary who lives in Vasundhara, Ghaziabad. After this Lublu Chaudhary was arrested. 22 kgs of ganja was recovered from him. Finally, their fourth accomplice Mohammad Fayaz was arrested from Chipyana village in Ghaziabad. 8.5 kgs of ganja was recovered from his house. Accused Indrapal and Mohammad Fayaz have already been involved in cases under NDPS Act.
