During checking in Fatehabad police station area of Tajnagri Agra, police arrested a smuggler who had come to deliver a consignment of poppy (doda) to a hotel in a car. However, his partner escaped. Police recovered 46.500 kg of goods from the car.

The Inspector in charge said that on Tuesday morning the police were checking near the culvert of Pratappur village on the service road of Agra-Lucknow Expressway. The arrested accused Subhash is a resident of Aam Chowk, Rwar ki Daadi police station Kafar, Jodhpur. 46.500 kg of poppy seed was found in the bags after searching the car. During police interrogation, the accused told that he brings it from Lucknow. He supplies it to hotels in Agra. Truck drivers use it at hotels.
They had to deliver the recovered doda to Jambeshwar Hotel, Toll Plaza-21, on the service road in Fatehabad. The hotel operator is Subhash Vishnoi, a resident of Jodhpur. The police have registered a case against the arrested accused and sent him to jail. The absconding accused Krishna, resident of Ahirpur, Fatehabad is being searched for.
