Nizamuddin police station of South-East district has arrested his domestic help Vasanti, Akash Joshi and Reiki practitioner Himanshu Joshi in the murder case of murder of elderly doctor Yogesh Chandra Paul (63), resident of Jangpura Extension, for robbery. Many accused including Vasanti’s friend Varsha are absconding. Three accused from Nepal have managed to escape to Nepal. Delhi Police is talking to Nepal Police. Maid Vasanti is the main mastermind of the incident. The police have recovered Rs 55,000 of the looted money from the house of an accused and jewelery that belonged to accused Akash. Vasanti’s friend Varsha is the second mastermind of the incident.

South-East District Police Deputy Commissioner Rajesh Dev said that on the day of the incident, at around 1.31 pm, two accused had followed Dr. Yogesh Paul into the house. After this someone else came inside the house. After this these people went back at 3.15 pm. When the police searched the CCTV footage of the incident spot and the surrounding area, a total of five people were seen. After this these people went to Saraikalekhan.

They had bags and polythene in their hands. At about quarter to five or five o’clock, lady Varsha also leaves the victim’s house. He said that when the police returned from Saraikalekhan to the victim’s house while investigating, they found out that Vasanti (62), the domestic help of the deceased elderly doctor, was the mastermind of the incident. She had been working in the victim’s house for 24 years, but her police verification was not done.

Vasanti informed Vishwaroop Sai

Vasanti, the mastermind of the incident, gave information about the doctor’s house to Haridwar’s criminal Vishwaroop Sai. He commits acts of poisoning. He included Pandit Himanshu Joshi of Bila Ghat, Haridwar in the conspiracy. Himanshu included his brother Akash Joshi. Vishwaroop Sai included three people of Nepal origin in the conspiracy.

Started doing Reiki from 5th May

Deputy Commissioner of Police said that Akash and Himanshu had come to recce the house of the victim doctor on May 5. After this they went back. On May 7, everyone came to Saraikalekhan and stayed in the licensed hotel and kept doing Reiki. After the incident on May 10, everyone came out of the victim’s house in a group of two. Akash Joshi and Vishwaroop Sai went back on the motorcycle. Varsha and another accused went along. After this the rest of the accused left.

Three accused arrested

Deputy Commissioner Rajesh Dev said that the police have arrested Akash Joshi, Made Vasanti and Himanshu Joshi who had come to do Reiki. In the initial investigation, the police have found out that the accused had looted three to four lakh rupees in cash and 10 to 15 tola jewellery. However, the victim’s family members are still in shock.

Varsha had shown the doctor’s house by video call.

According to police officials, Varsha had visited the victim’s house a total of six times. Every time he made video calls and showed the entire house to other accused. Video calls were made for a long time.

Accused Varsha, Vasanti and other accused had also conducted recce of the people living on the first floor above the doctor’s house. Although the doctor lives alone. Due to this, the accused had stake in Dr. Paul’s house.
