Dwarka district police has arrested a woman who stole from her mother’s house to repay the loan. The accused has been identified as Shweta (31). To escape from the police, the woman committed the crime by wearing a burqa. Police identified the accused by examining the CCTV cameras. The police have recovered jewelery worth about Rs 13 lakh, nine and a half thousand rupees and a burqa from the woman’s possession.

The police officer said that on January 30, Kamlesh, a resident of Sewak Park, complained about theft in his house at Vindapur police station. During investigation, the police came to know that jewelery and cash had been stolen from the cupboard kept in the house without any vandalism. The investigation of the case was handed over to the anti-burglary cell. Under the leadership of Inspector Vivek Mandola, the police searched the CCTV cameras around the complainant’s house.

In the footage, a woman wearing a burqa was seen opening the door of the house and entering. The police searched the CCTV cameras installed in the direction of the woman’s movement, in which it was found that the accused was Shweta, the elder daughter of the complainant woman. The police took him into custody and interrogated him. He confessed to his crime.

During interrogation, accused Shweta told that her mother loves her younger sister more. She used to spend money for him. Mother has made jewelery for her wedding. Had taken a loan of about Rs 1.5 lakh for his expenses. He had also taken a loan from his mother. To repay the debt, he conspired to commit theft in his own mother’s house. To escape from the police, she bought a burqa from the shop.

He called his mother to his house on the pretext of changing house. Then, stole the keys of mother’s house. She made some excuse to go out and left. She changed her clothes in the toilet located in Uttam Nagar West and wore a burqa. Then after the incident, she came back to the toilet, changed her clothes and went home. He told that he has sold the jewelery to a jeweller. Police have recovered the jewelery from the jeweller’s possession.
