A case of arbitrariness of policemen sent on duty for Lok Sabha elections in Shamli on Tuesday has come to light. The SP strongly reprimanded the policemen who were leaving for the place of duty in a private vehicle after boarding the bus provided for transportation. The SP told the policemen who were acting arbitrarily that he will teach you how to do the job.
The video of this incident that happened on Tuesday is becoming increasingly viral on social media. An interesting aspect of the whole matter is that when the SP checked the presence of the sent policemen at Shahabad border, out of 474, 180 were found absent. The department is preparing to take action against all of them after they return from duty. On Tuesday, SP KC Goswami from Police Lines had sent 474 policemen in 10 buses for election duty. Regarding the entire matter, the SP has asked Additional Superintendent of Police East to investigate and submit a report.
Necessary medicines and water bottles were provided to the police personnel sent for duty. Mess arrangements were also made in a bus. Some police personnel, in order to run home, got down from the buses and started going in private vehicles along with government rifles.
