Pooja Bhatt revealed in Bigg Boss OTT2 about her alcoholic addiction

The actress we are talking about is none other than Mahesh Bhatt’s daughter and actress-producer-director Pooja Bhatt.

Pooja Bhatt had revealed during Bigg Boss OTT 2 that she was addicted to alcohol. Pooja had said, “I had a problem with drinking and so I acknowledged my addiction and then decided to quit it.”

Pooja Bhatt had further said, “Society gives men a license and thus they can openly talk about being addicted and recovering from alcoholism. However, women do not drink openly and hence they do not recover openly. I used to drink openly so when I thought of quitting alcoholism I realised why should I recover in privacy?” Being a public drinker, she realised that she did not want to recover in privacy.

While talking about her alcohol addiction, Pooja Bhatt also said that she was on the verge of death due to her bad habit. However, she overcame this habit in time.

Pooja Bhatt had said, “People used to call me an alcoholic but then I said that I am a recovering alcoholic…” Pooja had revealed that she had quit drinking at the age of 44.

Pooja Bhatt had also revealed that she had quit alcohol addiction because of her father. The actress had told that her father had told her, if you love me, then love yourself too because I live inside you. This statement of her father inspired Pooja to quit alcohol.

Let us tell you that Pooja Bhatt started her acting career in Bollywood at the age of 17 in the year 1989 with her father Mahesh Bhatt’s directorial film Daddy. Pooja was seen in a very glamorous style in this film. Pooja was also given the Filmfare New Face of the Year Award for the film.

Pooja Bhatt has worked in many blockbuster films in her career like Dil Hai Ki Manta Nahin, Angare, Chahat, Bodyguard, Tadipaar, Sadak and Zakham.

Pooja stepped into the direction line with the film Paap in the year 2004. She launched Pooja Bhatt Production Company in 1996 and made the film Tamanna under it.
