Virendra Kumar (40), husband of Pradhan Sheetal Devi of Jadana Nagliya village of Khair Kotwali, was shot dead. It is being said that the incident happened due to the rivalry of Pradhan election. Police have detained some people from the former Pradhan’s party. The rest are being searched.
The incident took place on June 11 at around 8:30 pm and at the time of the incident Virendra Singh son Jagdish was going to see the Gaushala outside the village on his bike. His brother Manishanker and his brother-in-law were riding on another bike a little behind. The attackers were already waiting in ambush near a tube well located near the Hanuman temple, about a kilometer before the village. They stopped Virendra and there was some altercation between them and after that they started firing continuously. It is being reported that about eight to ten rounds of firing took place and Virendra was hit by four to five bullets. He died on the spot. During this, his brother stayed behind. After the attackers fled, he reached the spot and informed the family and the police.
The family has accused the former Pradhan of murdering him due to Panchayat election rivalry. Recently, in the Lok Sabha elections, Virendra supported the BJP at the behest of BJP district president Krishnapal Lala and the other side supported the opposition candidate. Although, no kind of tension or dispute came to the fore in this election. But there has been tension between the two sides for a long time. On receiving the information, the family along with the area police, SSP, SP Rural, CO Khair, along with the forensic team reached the spot.
According to SSP Sanjeev Suman and SP Rural Palash Bansal, the current Pradhan’s husband has been murdered. The former Pradhan’s party has been verbally accused of murder due to the rivalry of Panchayat elections. Accordingly, some people have been taken into custody, rest of the action will be taken as per the complaint received or the facts that come to light.
