The results of the Gujarat assembly elections are out. This time the Bharatiya Janata Party has created a new record. In Gujarat, which has 182 assembly seats, 156 BJP candidates won the elections. BJP’s Gajendrasinh Udesinh Parmar defeated Becharsinh Harisinh Rathod of INC by 64,622 votes in Prantij Assembly seat in Sabarkantha district. This is the second consecutive victory of Gajendrasinh Parmar. BJP candidate got 1,05,324 votes while Congress got 40,702 votes here. You were at number three. Its candidate Alpeshkumar Nareshbhai Patel got 32,139 votes, which was 17.46 percent of the total votes. The deposits of three candidates were forfeited. BJP got victory in 2017

The BJP had won the Prantij seat in the 2017 assembly elections. In this election, BJP had nominated Gajendrasinh Udesinh Parmar as its candidate from this seat. Parmar defeated Mahendra Singh Baraiya of Congress by just 2,551 votes. A total of nine candidates were in the fray here. Apart from these two, the deposits of the remaining seven candidates were forfeited.

BJP got seventh victory here

BJP has got the seventh victory on this seat. The party has been victorious in seven of the eight elections held from 1990 to 2022. The Congress had last won in 2012. When Mahendra Singh Baraiya defeated Jaisinghji Chauhan of BJP. Before 2012, Govindbhai Patel of Congress had won from here in 1985. In 1980, Maganbhai Patel of the Janata Party became the provincial MLA. Whereas, in 1975, independent Dilip Singh Patel had won. In 1972 and 1962, the provincial seat went to the Congress. And in 1967, NA Jala of the Swatantra Party won from here. In the total 14 elections held so far, the BJP has won the provincial seat seven times. At the same time, this seat has gone to the account of the Congress four times. Janata Party, Independent and Swatantra Party candidates have won once each from the provincial assembly seat.
