Former Chief Minister of the state Ashok Chavan has officially announced to leave the Congress. Speaking to the media, he said, “Today I have resigned from the membership of the Congress Party. I have not yet decided to join any party. I have not resigned due to any compulsion.

These MLAs will also come along
Now it is being said that along with Chavan, three more MLAs Subhash Dhote, Jitesh Antarpurkar and Amar Rajpurkar can also change the party. Apart from this, there is speculation about Baba Siddiqui’s son Zeeshan changing party. However, he has not said anything regarding this yet.

There are reports that Ajit Pawar led NCP is also eyeing two more big Congress leaders. These include the names of Mumbadevi MLA Amin Patel and Malad West MLA Aslam Shaikh. Congress has four MLAs in Mumbai. If all these MLAs leave then Congress will have only one MLA left in Mumbai.

These big leaders have said goodbye to Congress

Before Ashok Chavan, veteran leaders Milind Deora and Baba Siddiqui have also said goodbye to Congress. He was a big face of Maharashtra Congress. On one hand Deora Chief Minister Eknath Shinde While Siddiqui has joined the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) led by Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar.
