Aligarh’s State Industrial and Agricultural Exhibition (Numaish) is inaugurated on 28th January. But the preparations are half-baked. Preparations are going on in various markets of the exhibition, but it is likely to take some time for them to come to fruition. The painting work is also going on at a snail’s pace. Till now, the programs to be held in the exhibition have not been finalized by the administration. However, the administration claims that everything will be rectified before the inauguration.

In the Agriculture Pavilion, the Agriculture Department has started the work of making beds and sowing crops etc. in the field for the display of various species of crops for the farmers. Same is the condition of Industry Pavilion. Due to non-allocation of shops and camps for carrying out business activities, preparations have not yet started here. Preparations for decorating Krishnanjali and Kohinoor stage for cultural programs are going on in full swing.

Ram Darbar is being decorated with the help of LED lights in the Darbar Hall, which is equivalent to Krishnanjali Auditorium. Preparations are on to decorate it before January 22. Decoration work is also slow in Neeraj-Shehryar Park. Currently, the work of painting shops is going on in various markets including Shilpgram, Kashmiri Bazaar, Photo Exhibition, Hullad Bazaar.

The exhibition will provide a platform to local artists to showcase their talent. Competitions and programs promoting sports will be given a proper platform. This time all the programs will be of high level. The preparations for the exhibition and the programs to be organized are being finalized. All preparations will be completed before the scheduled time of inauguration. – Amit Kumar Bhatt, Exhibition Incharge and Additional District Magistrate City
