The wait is over: PM Modi will gift metro to the people of Agra on March 6, 2024

The wait for those traveling in Agra Metro is over. The date of its inauguration has been decided. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will hand it over to the general public on March 6. PM will join virtually from Kolkata and inaugurate. For this, Uttar Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation (UPMRC) has made complete preparations. A list of public representatives and social people is being prepared.
UPMRC Deputy General Manager Panchanan Mishra said that the letter has come from the Prime Minister’s Office and the government. In this, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is in Kolkata on 6 March. From there he will inaugurate many schemes across the country including Metro and Vande Bharat Express.
This also includes Agra’s metro plan. It is expected that Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will attend virtually from Lucknow. The event will be held at the station itself, for this special decoration of all the stations will also be done. The guest list is being prepared.
Train will run from Taj East to Mankameshwar station
The priority corridor of the metro consists of a 6 km track from Taj East to Manakameshwar Temple. In this, Taj East, Shaheed Captain Shubham Gupta station and Fatehabad Road station are elevated. Taj Mahal station, Agra Fort station and Mankameshwar station are underground. Metro will operate from 6 am to 10 pm. There will be a metro train every 5 minutes. 5-6 metro trains will run.
Approval for metro operation was received last week
Chief Commissioner of Railway Safety Jagan Kumar Garg had conducted a three-day audit for the safety and security of passengers in the metro train. In this, the quality of track, signal, command control room, depot and others was assessed. After this, approval was given for metro operation last Monday.
